Safer Bawtry Road Campaign

Another fatal collision has happened on Bawtry Road in Brinsworth - the latest in a series of serious accidents on this busy stretch of road.

Residents have been campaigning for many years to improve safety on Bawtry Road, backed by local councillor Dr. Adam Carter.

The campaign has secured some big improvements at the Canklow end of the road, including a pedestrian crossing and 30mph limit at Canklow Bridge. But the Tinsley end of the road has not seen any of these changes.

It's now time to say 'enough is enough' and demand that the council take immediate action.

Local campaigner Charlotte Carter explains:

"How many more accidents will have to occur before the council take action?   I've started this petition to show the strength of feeling locally.

We're asking for:

  • The speed camera to be reinstalled
  • The limit to be cut from 40 to 30mph
  • An increased police presence in the area

If you agree, please sign below and ask your friends and neighbours to do the same.

Together we can make our town safer for all of us."
